“BME mental health has came into the frame now” says Ahmed Mahbub

In a recent interview with The Print, the Vice President Welfare at QMSU spoke about how the discourse surrounding mental health is no longer “generalised to everyone” as it now reaches the BME population.

Speaking with Deputy Editor of The Print Sophie Mitchell, Ahmed Mahbub talked about the mental health app coming to Queen Mary, reporting hate crimes, and improving Students’ Union events.

Since the interview, Ahmed was elected President of QMSU 2018-19.

Thank you to all the students who submitted questions via our online form for this interview.

We apologise for the somewhat dodgy sound quality. Despite what you might hear, the episode was not actually filmed at sea. Rather, with a poor quality microphone.
