QM Elections: The Blog

What?

Queen Mary’s Candidate Debates are a chance for all those running for sabbatical and part-time positions to tell you why they deserve your vote. You can quiz them on their ideas, their manifestos and find out just how they plan on improving welfare, education and student engagement.

If straying too far from the library makes treckking to Whitechapel’s Clark Kennedy lecture theatre sound a little daunting, check back here where we’ll be providing some pretty top notch live-coverage of both events.

When?

Whitechapel Hustings are at 6pm on the 3rd of March, and Mile End Hustings are on the 7th of March at 6pm.

Our live blog will take place right here, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the latest updates, news and analysis.

Why?

Elections are your chance to choose the people that will go on to represent you over the course of the next academic year. Voter turnout repeatedly shows that a vast majority of the student population remain somewhat disengaged, but we’d like that to change. We’re here to keep you involved, ask the questions you want to ask, and ultimately help you make an informed decision.

As always, all of our coverage will be fair, non-biased and written with you in mind.
